The air quality analysis consists in carrying out measurements and analyses in the air such as:

  • Amount of dust in the air
  • Bacteria/fungi/mold analysis
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2) level
  • Carbon monoxide (CO) levels
  • Percentage of humidity
  • Other contaminants

The data to analyze

When we perform an air quality analysis in ventilation ducts, we look at different data, namely:

  • The amount of dust in the air: this helps to determine how clogged the ducts are with dust from renovations in the house or after a long period of time without the ducts having been cleaned;
  • The presence of bacteria and molds: this analysis makes it possible to determine if the air breathed by the occupants contains potentially allergenic agents causing health problems;
  • The level of toxic elements in the air: this includes determining the carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide content in the air that the occupants breathe in the house;
  • Humidity percentage: It is important to determine the humidity level of the air in the house. Too dry, it can cause illness among the occupants. Too humid, it promotes the proliferation of mold;
  • Other contaminants: It may be necessary to determine the presence of other contaminants in the air that occupants breathe in order to identify the causes of health problems. For example, after a plaster break in the rooms of the house, the dust that emerges can seep into the ducts and lead to lung problems if the occupants inhale too much.
